That Thing Where I Draw: My Nightmares

I also had a dream in which Jennifer Jackson told me that leaving my query letter in the bathroom for agents to read was not a good idea. "Think about what they're doing in there and how that will make them feel about your novel."

  1. It's a good drawing.

    Aren't dreams funny?

  2. Seriously, fairy. I've been having the wackiest dreams since Anica's been born. Fortunately every once in a while I get a good story idea out of them :-)

  3. This made me laugh. I've been having seriously strange dreams for a couple of weeks. Last night I apparently decided to become my own son's room-mate, but I had to disguise myself. So I slouched so my boobs wouldn't stick out so much and wore a coat. I laughed when I woke up. That is even lamer than Clark Kent's disguise!

Love the sketch! It's been too long since I did any of that myself.

  4. Is it that you're not sleeping so deeply? New babies cause havoc with sleeping.

  5. Could be, fairy. The boys and the hot (HOT!) season aren't helping any either.

India, that's hilarious! It reminds me of a movie.

  6. I think my boys would agree that tying shoes is nightmarish. :)

I had the most vivid dreams when my kids were little, my brain desperately trying to recover some REM cycles when it could. Now, they sleep more, but I sleep less. Oh the irony.

  8. I'm impressed! I can't do anything more than stick figures. And I agree with your dream about JJ! I mean, yeah. :)

  9. I swear I've heard that bit about giving your manuscript to an agent in the bathroom, but I thought I heard it from Ginger Clark.

Your drawing made me laugh. I have wonky dreams when I'm pregnant and the year after I have my kids. I think Fairy's on the right track.
